Everything You Need to Know

We run a First Fit Decreasing (FFD) algorithm across your entire box catalog. For each product, the engine tests every active box — checking that all three dimensions fit the product with the appropriate fragility clearance, then scores each fitting box by volume (prefer smallest), total cost (box price + dimensional weight shipping), and sustainability score.

Dimensional weight = (L×W×H)/5000. This is multiplied by a per-kg rate based on the shipping zone (Zone 1–8 supported). We compare total cost of original box vs optimized box to compute savings.

Yes. In the Box Catalog tab, add any boxes with their exact dimensions, max weight, material type, and cost per box. The optimizer only uses boxes marked as active in your catalog.

product_name, product_length, product_width, product_height, used_box_length, used_box_width, used_box_height, fragility_score (1–10), used_box_price, shipping_zone. Sample CSV available in the Optimize tab.

A score from 1 (sturdy, no extra clearance) to 10 (extremely fragile, 4cm clearance on all sides). The engine adjusts minimum box dimensions based on this score to ensure safe packaging.

The engine is tested to 10,000+ rows per batch. Rows are processed in chunks of 250 to maintain performance. One invalid row never breaks the batch — each row is independently validated.

Results are saved directly to the Orders table in your Supabase database and appear immediately in the Orders tab. Each result includes the optimized box, original box, savings, fit status, and optimization reason.

Yes. Your API key is in Settings → API Keys. POST to api.shipzi.com/v1/optimize with your product data and receive optimization results. Available on Growth and Max plans.
